Writing Letters

We've been learning about writing letters this term. Here's an activity we have been doing on our interactive whiteboard. Have a go and see if you can correctly structure this letter.

G'Day from Australia

This term our topic is Keeping in Touch. We have been sending around a G'day from Australia to different schools in the world to see if anyone would like to be our pen pals. We got a reply from a school in Salt Lake City, Utah. We just started typing up a letter to them from our writing books today. We are very excited to get a reply from them and that they want to be our pen pals!

Creating a Learning Community

This is our first blog for the year 2009! For the first 2 weeks of school we have been doing C.A.L.C. I have enjoyed C.A.L.C. which is short for Creating a Learning Community. In the time of C.A.L.C. we have done some posters such as our great classroom poster, sustainability poster, a great student poster, a great teacher and our yellow pages. My favourite thing of what we did was probably the yellow pages. The yellow pages was where we said something that we were good at and made it into a yellow pages so that people can help others. The thing that I didn’t like as much as the others was a great student poster because it was hard to brainstorm things. We do C.A.L.C. so we can discuss the class rules, who we are and what we want our classroom to be like. Goodbye.

Ooblek Maker By Kenny

Welcome to our Ooblek maker. Today we will be making Ooblek. First we need a big mixing jar and second we need the cornflour. Put them in the mixing jar and put water in the big mixing jar. Put some food dye in the mixing jar and mix for ten of fifteen minutes. Put the mixture in a big box until it is all filled up and Dr. Anthony and Dr. Julian stem on the Ooblek. Ha, ha! Goodbye, goodbye.

Limerick By Aidan

There once was a boy called Mie
Who ate a very big pie
He grew nine heads
and went to his bed
And his head exploded and he died
